Dragona PH: Transforming MMORPG

Dragona PH's Pre-beta Phase starts tomorrow, July 28, at exactly 2 PM.

There are plenty of MMORPGs out there that sometimes it gets boring already when I hear about a new game coming up. However, Dragona made me take a second look.

Dragona and Dragonica may sound alike but believe me, they are definitely two different games and personally, Dragona pwnz Dragonica.




The distinguishing point that this game has from the others is the unique ‘Dragona’ system, fusing the players’ character with a dragon and with it empowering them with amazing abilities. Body parts that can be transformed are the head, arms, feet and torso. This results in a power increase in magic, attack, speed, and defence power, respectively. This fatigues the player both mentally and physically, and no matter how strong the player is, the dragon power can never be maintained for a long time. To satisfy the energy needed to maintain the Dragona state, energy must be consuming from absorbing other creatures.



Defeating other creatures is the main objective of the game, and while some can be defeated just by speed and skill, some may require a more logical approach, and the right skill upgrade in the right area may be all it takes to defeat certain creatures. The four character classes; Human, Eldin, Kali and Catcha, each have their own strong points in terms of skill, and all come in a Male and Female gender class. This gives a total of eight different characters.

Survey: Female Gamers Love Gaming More than Sex

A new survey found female online gamers prefer gaming over any other activity including working out, taking baths, shoping and even having sex.

What do female gamers enjoy?





It is a survey of 2,052 people commissioned by Doritos. According to the survey, 49 percent of women play online games, while men, 50 percent. It suggests that women play computer games not less than men. Moreover, women play online games for longer periods of time than men. Women in the survey spent an average of 3.5 hours playing online games each week. 23.1 percent of women's time online is spent gaming, compared with 22.3 percent for males.

The survey was commissioned by the snack maker to coincide with the launch of its new Facebook game, Doritos Dip Desperado.



"Social and mobile gaming is hugely popular and, as the survey reveals, amongst women as much as men," said Doritos marketing manager Hugo Amos. "We wanted to create a game that is fun and entertaining for everyone. It will be exciting to see who tops the Doritos Dip Desperado Facebook leaderboard over coming weeks."

Mounted Combat Coming to Forsaken World

Tired of fighting on the ground? Wanting to take your enemies down elegantly? Then you need a mount, a mount that can carry you into the battle. The upcoming Forsaken World content update Chains of Kluer will introduce in mounted combat.




Any mount of yours can be upgraded into a combat worthy steed once you reach level 60. By completing a quest line that has you visiting multiple regions, you'll be granted the license, an item that will enable mounted combat for your character. There are 2 levels of license, looking from the Chinese version. The level 60 license will only allow you to ride a combat mount in the open world while the level 65 license gives the ability to combat on your mounts in the instance.

Choose Your Path Through Dishonored

Find out how many ways you can approach a single encounter in our interactive narrative game based on Arkane's new project.



One of the most surprising and exciting things about Dishonored is the focus on simulation and choice that pervades nearly every element of the game. Any given situation can be approached from a number of different directions. Outright force, mobility, stealth, supernatural powers, gear, trickery, distraction, and more options are presented to the player. Every option can dramatically alter the outcome.


During the Game Informer staff's visit to Arkane Studios, they had the opportunity to see several early glimpses of the game in action. While a longer gameplay story demo offered an extended look at the game, they were also shown a shorter test area of the game used by the team to try out new ideas.

The encounter – a large room filled with guards – could be tackled from dozens of angles. They asked the developers to show us the short demo encounter repeatedly, and they ended up watching over 30 unique approaches to the battle – some of which skipped the battle altogether.

They have synthesized their time with the demo into a short narrative game. While the scenes in the story are pieced together from the many playthoughs they witnessed, every individual event or choice described is a real option already implemented into the early version of the game. In actuality, they have eliminated a number of the choices for the sake of brevity.

Shaiya: Latest Content Expansion

With unique visuals and a compelling story that could be ripped straight out of the minds of the greatest of fantasy authors, free-to-play Shaiya recently released a content expansion.

In Shaiya, players compete for dominance over the realm of Gaia. Shaiya presents a land of wonder in an age of old where The Alliance of Light, consisting of Humans and Elves are engulfed in eternal conflict with the dark and malevolent Union of Fury, whose ranks are filled by the Vail and Deatheater races.

The latest content update includes:

Enhanced Armor With 25% More Protection, New Properties and Elements - Included in the latest expansion is the most advanced armor ever released. This armor is a guaranteed drop from the new instanced dungeon, available to all players who are able to defeat its guardians.

Cape Updates - The latest update enhances the previously-limited utility of capes, granting them the power to add additional bonuses to their wearer. Existing capes have their attributes rerolled, so if a player has already acquired a cape, their power will dramatically increase.

Return of Cryptic One Dungeon - The return of the Cryptic One Dungeon features six new mini-dungeons, each with new mini-bosses and challenges. These monsters provide the most difficult challenge to date in Shaiya. Successful exploration of the Cryptic One Dungeon will require the largest of parties to be equipped with the best of existing items.

A Comic-Con 2011 Revelation: Beavis and Butt-head Return

"I felt like TV was getting too smart," Mike Judge said to a packed house at Comic-Con when asked why he wanted to bring Beavis and Butt-head back now.




After setting up the presentation, Judge screened almost ten minutes of footage from various episodes. The first clip featured Beavis and Butt-head, after having seen Twilight, wanting to be vampires so they can get chicks. And naturally, they mistake a hairy homeless man for a werewolf and hope that his bite can turn them into creatues of the night. Instead, the hobo's bite gives them Hepatitis C and a ton of other diseases. Much laughter ensued.

The next clip featured the two providing their signature sarcastic commentary, but now over clips of Jersey Show and 16 & Pregnant instead of music videos. One scene had Butt-head commenting on a Jersey Shore episode where Snooki draws an elaborate "Hook-up diagram," one that Butt-head compared to drawing "your family tree, if your family was made up of whores."

After the footage concluded, Judge discussed that the original series' truly complete DVD release is delayed (though DVDs have been released), due to clearance issues regarding the music videos featured.

Judge also seemed enthusiastic about the possibility of a new Beavis and Butt-head video game. "There has been talk," Judge said, and although video games have been made in the past, there could "be a really cool one that we haven't made yet."

Steampunk-Themed Office Space

The Three Rings Design Office located in San Francisco was created as an intriguing steampunk-themed office space that inspires and fortifies the talent of the people working here. The idea behind the office interior design merges creativity and custom details.





Twenty people work together under the Three Rings Design Office roof. Instead of spending their time in cubicles, the talented game designers enjoy colourful and creative office spaces, a game room, a lounge and a secret room behind a bookshelf. This office design not only costs half the price of a cubicle office design, but it also created an inspiring atmosphere that helps the workers stay focused, entertained and creative.

Capcom Scraps Mega Man Legends 3

A Message From Capcom

We'd like to thank you for your ongoing loyal support of Mega Man Legends 3. Today, however, we must regrettably announce the discontinuation of this project.

From the outset the MML3 Project was intended to give gamers across the world insight and input into the development process. Part of this process includes an assessment of whether the title will go into full production, and is based on a number of criteria with input from different sectors of the company.

Unfortunately it was not felt that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project met the required criteria, and it is with regret that we must announce that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project has been cancelled, meaning that Capcom will not be releasing the Prototype or the full game. Additionally, updates of the Mega Man Legends Developer Room will cease as of today, though the North American Developer Room and its forums will remain open indefinitely.

We can only express our deepest apologies to all of you who have lent us your unending support, including participation in the Mega Man Legends 3 Developer Room. On behalf of the entire Legends team, please accept our sincere apology for failing to meet the expectations of the fans.

We thank you all so much for your extended support of this title and this community, and we hope that you will continue to support the Mega Man franchise as well as other Capcom games.

Q: Are there plans to restart the Mega Man Legends 3 Project in the future?

A: Currently there are none.




Q: I want to maintain contact with the people I met through the Devroom.

A: The Dev Room will remain open in a limited capacity, so you can PM those people now and in the future.



Q: Is there a chance the ideas recruited in the Devroom will be used in future games?

A: No, I am afraid not.



Q: Will it be okay to upload the ideas we contributed to the Devroom elsewhere?

A: Yes, you may reuse your ideas elsewhere, including those ideas that were selected as winners in Devroom events.



Q: Will the people whose ideas were supposed to go in the game receive something else instead?

A:Yes, those whose ideas were to be implemented in the game will receive a commemorative gift, which will be shipped at a later date.



Q.Can you please give me more information on why the MML3 project was cancelled so close to the launch of the Prototype?

A. The project was cancelled for the reasons outlined in the statement.



Q.Will the Prototype Version still be distributed via the Nintendo eShop?

A.No it will not.



Q.Is the cancellation of MML3 related to the departure of Inafune-san?

A. The cancellation of the MML3 project is in no way related to Inafune-san leaving the company.



Q. This is the second Mega Man game cancelled this year, what does this mean for the future of the Mega Man Franchise?

A. Mega Man is still an important franchise within Capcom’s portfolio and we will continue to pursue opportunities to create new titles in the series.



Q. The Dev Room was a place where fans were supposed to be deeply involved in the creation of this product, why were they not involved in the decision to cancel this product?

A. We thank all those who were involved in the Developer Room, but the decision to continue or cancel the MML3 ultimately had to be made by Capcom.



Q. What will happen to the ideas and input participants have given to the Dev Room?

A. Content will remain viewable on the Devroom, but will not be utilized for any future projects.



Q. Will there be any future projects that involve fan participation in this manner? Or was this a one time experiment?

A. We will certainly continue to welcome suggestions and comments from Capcom’s community on current and future titles although right now there are no projects with plans to replicate the same level of interaction.

Ragnarok Online 2 to Kick off 2nd CBT on July 13

As announced by Korea-based Gravity, Ragnarok Online's sequel Ragnarok Online 2 is going to kick off its 5-day second CBT tomorrow, July 13, 2011.

As Gravity expressed, players came up with their opinions and suggestions actively after Ragnarok Online 2's first CBT and caring CBT. The development team has strengthened the gameplay content based on the feedback. Players are welcome to join the game's second CBT and test its system stability and new content.

What's more, the second CBT will set an extremely low threshold for players, that is, all members of Ragnarok Online 2's official site will be allowed to join the test. Isn't this great news for those keen on Ragnarok Online?



According to Gravity, in Ragnarok Online 2's second CBT, players will be able to appreciate not only Ragnarok Online's game concept but also more abundant gameplay content evolved from Ragnarok Online's advantages; in the future, players will have a better understanding of Ragnarok Online 2's background story, characters and many other things through the info and events reachable on the game's official site.





Ragnarok Online 2, which emphasizes its relationship with Ragnarok Online, will enable players to travel around a fantasy world as bright as the one presented by Ragnarok Online, and even its maps, monsters and NPCs etc. will make enthusiasts feel familiar.
