Marty McFly's Shoes Selling for Up to $75,000

Yesterday Nike unveiled their latest limited edition kicks with the 2011 Mag, a real-life recreation of the famous self-lacing shoes from Back to the Future II.

Following the announcement, the Internet was set ablaze, and sneaker nerds around the world collectively screeched with excitement, but they would soon learn that the privilege of owning the futuristic kicks would come at a cost.

Nike is auctioning off 1500 of the Mags on eBay to benefit the Michael J Fox foundation for Parkinson's disease research, and after the first round of auctions, bids had reportedly reached as $75,000 a pair.

The cause has also garnered the support of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, who will match donations to the foundation for up $50 million until 2012.

Can't live without the Nike Mags or want to contribute to the cause? Swing by the official eBay page to place your bid or go to the foundation's official website to make a donation.
