Dragon Nest Shooting Star Skill Build

Let me again emphasize that I am not a PVP fan, hence my choice for the Engineer's level 50 job goes to Shooting Star because it works well in dungeons and hence making it comfortable and easy enough for me to finish quests.

SUFFIX CHOICE

Helmet - Wind
Top - Life
Bottom - Life
Gloves - Life
Shoes - Wind
Weapon - Destructive
Sub Weapon - Destructive

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SHOOTING STAR AND GEAR MASTER

There is one diffarence:
Shooting Star is more cannon & alfredo skills
Gear Master is tower skills & Duck skills = almost 0 cannon skills.

For those who want an alternative to this build, you can check out this previous post: http://mhauckonline.blogspot.com/2012/05/dragon-nest-engineer-skill-build.html which also features the Shooting Star type.

DN Skill Tree Revamp + Skill Reset (Important)

This Level 50 update brings about some significant changes to the Skill Trees in Dragon Nest. All players are strongly advised to read through the information provided below to prevent making any distressing mistakes with your character skill builds as there will not be any free [Skill Initialization Scroll] given through quests from Levels 41-50.

*However, please note that we have already performed an automated skill reset for all characters in all worlds upon completion of today’s patch update on 28/08/12. Do NOT be alarmed by empty hotkey slots, this is merely a part of the skill reset conducted.

With the introduction of the Skill Tree Revamp, there are some implications that players will face. These changes are more evident as the revamp was implemented while majority of players are at level 40.

The skill tree revamp requires players to spend a minimum of skill points (SP) on their basic class tree (eg. Warrior, cleric, archer, academic & Sorceress) so that they can learn skills in their 1
st job tree.

A minimum of 40SP is required for players to learn level 32 skills and 45SP is required for the learning of the ultimate skills. Academic based classes are an exception where only 35SP is required for learning of Level 32 skills. For those who are going for perfect or ideal builds for your respective classes, you might have difficulty in achieving these minimum requirements without deviating from your perfect/ideal skill builds that were meant for Level 50.

The majority of classes will be able to hit the minimum requirement of 40SP spent in their basic tree while not deviating from their perfect/ideal skill builds. This allows them to at least learn Level 32 skills which usually deal significant damage hence allow or easier clearing of dungeons while leveling to 50.

Those classes that are unfortunate to not spend at least 40 SP (35SP for Academic Based classes) will need to rely on their other low level skills for leveling. You will however in the end still be able to learn your level 32 and ultimate skills, but just not at level 40 if you want to maintain the integrity of having a perfect/ideal build in the end.

We have included a guide below (in the forum posts) to aid players with their allocation of skill points for their classes while they are at level 40 so that they do not risk the usage of a [Skill Initialization Scroll].

Screenshots of recommendations for all 20 classes are included below. Do note that the builds are mostly based off PVE ideal/perfect builds and players must use discretion in deciding if the builds provided in the guide is the ideal/perfect build they are going for.

Each screenshot will be accompanied by a short written explanation to enlighten players some of the thoughts behind the decision making.

Please view the guide and recommendations in the forum posts below (Posts #1-20) Physician is located on the 2nd page.

Scammer Alert! Warning to all Dragon Nest Players

I have received an email from someone who claims to be from Cherry Credits, stating that in order to decrease the lag in-game, I would have to give them my account details or else my account would be deemed inactive and therefore would get deleted.

Fortunately, I am smarter than I look.

Here's a screenshot of the email:

First off, GMs would never ask for any player's account details. Why? Because they don't need to. They have a database for that. They don't even need to send out emails to know which accounts are inactive because that would appear in player logs.

Second, why even bother asking for my "registered email address"? If you really are from Cherry Credits, the only email address you would know would be my registered email address, nothing more, nothing less.

Third, Cherry Credits does not use @gmail.com as their email address. They use "@cherrycredits.com". Good luck registering an email in their site.

Lastly, any mass account deletion would have been announced in the Dragon Nest website beforehand, notifying all players regarding this move. I frequently check the site and there's nothing there related to what was stated in the email.

This does not only apply to Dragon Nest and Cherry Credits but to all game companies as well. Please keep this in mind, everyone.

Be smart enough to know how to distinguish a fake from a real one. Protect your online accounts. Never give your account details to anyone.

Dragon Nest: Destroyer Skill Build

Dragon Nest Mercenaries will be taking things to the next level when the Destroyer starts cleaning house with the upcoming level 50 cap!

Compared to the Barbarian, the Destroyer is more of a PvP character, with skills that were perhaps created to cater to the PvP-loving players (please read further to know what I mean :P )

Think you can hide behind your oh-so-powerful armour? The Destroyer thinks otherwise, as he pounds your armour into dust. Don’t think of escaping either because he can manipulate his surrounding energy to draw you to him!

Before going into analysis of the Top Destroyer Build, as usual, I will show the description of the 3 new skills first.
  • Breaking Point: Chance to break enemy superarmor and deal critical hits. 15% chance, cd 7sec.
  • Flying Swing EX: Enhanced flying swing, deal additional aftershock damage. AOE significantly improved.
  • Maelstorm Howl:  Suck the enemy around him towards himself and howl to deal heavy damage. While sucking, phy and mag damage received is reduced by 70%. Phy dmg 494.8%+2638. CD 45sec at Lv1. The suction damage ignores target’s invincibility, guardian shield etc.
Ok let’s take a look at the build now.

As you can see from the build, it ignores many skills. Why? Because this is a build for PvP! So many howl skills are not learnt. How can it benefit a party when it comes to Dungeons and Nests? Another reason is there are still quite many SP left

[Warrior]
  • Circle Break – Ignored because Mercenaries has many other better attack skills.
  • Rising Slash – Lv 6 for 2nd hit activation in this skill.
  • Relieve – Lv 4 for lower cooldown.
  • Dash – Lv 4. Too many SPs are needed elsewhere like Stomp.
  • Sweeping Kick – Lv 1. I didn’t PvP much so I don’t really know much about this. Maybe it is good in PvP. Not worth adding this high.
  • Drop Kick – Lv 1. For PvP. Not worth adding this high.
  • Soccer Kick – Lv 1. For PvP and pre-requisite. Not worth adding this high.
  • Aerial Evasion – Lv 3. Either Lv 3 or 4 is fine. Personal preference for cool down time.
  • Physical Mastery/Mental Mastery/Mental Training – Everything ignored. In PvP, the HP and Mana values are not the same as when you do PvE. So after hitting a certain value, you won’t see much difference when in PvP.
[Mercenary]
  • Stomp – Lv 11. In my opinion, Lv 10 is already enough because from lv 10 to 11, the slow % on enemies is still 40. Perhaps this build wanted more damage on Stomp.
  • Whirlwind – Lv 2. For more damage I suppose. But the maximum level attainable at character lv 50 is lv 7 for Whirlwind. As you can see, playing PvP sacrifices many useful skills. So do plan out your build properly.
  • Crisis Howl – Lv 5. In my opinion, lv 1 is already enough. The damage is not that great. Most probably, he wanted much faster cool down for this skill to be able to retaliate in PvP.
  • Toughness – Ignored. I am also unsure of the PvP system. Issues with Defense and Damage received? Maybe you all didn’t hear this before. In DN TW, some players PvP using gears bought from the blacksmith. People call those gears “BeiLin Equip”. I don’t know the English name of the blacksmith, probably Baylin or something lol. The reason why people use those gears is because they want a fair PvP match and not let those with lousier gears to have disadvantages. So maybe this skill is ignored due to this reason?
  • Soccer Kick Combo – Lv 1. For PvP.
  • Panic Howl – Lv 2. Probably not enough SP to add higher to support teammates in mass PvP.
  • Iron Skin – Lv 1. I don’t understand >.< Lv 1 only reduces damage received by 20%. Lv 3 reduces 40% and Lv 4 reduces 45%. You can see a significant increase in those numbers. The thing is the % is damage reduction and not defense values. So even if you are wearing “BeiLin Equip”, you will still benefit greatly from this skill.
[Destroyer]
  • Breaking Point – Lv 1. 13% chance or Lv 2 for 15% chance. You decide. Good skill to interrupt players’ skill casting in PvP.
  • Flying Swing EX – Ignored. Not sure of the reason too. In fact, the cast time did not change and the AOE is increased. Normally, I see people using Flying Swing in 1-1 PvP is when the opponent is not movable. Probably in 1-1, the increased AoE doesn’t matter?
  • Maelstorm Howl – Ignored. Maybe due to the cast time? I don’t see any bad issue on this skill though.
