Illusion Castle Radiant Hall Patch Notes

Scheduled for a July release, Cabal PH has yet something new to look forward to. Featuring two new dungeons, a new item, and an improved party system, what else could game developer ESTsoft be hiding under sleeves that will be bigger than this?



Here to show you the preliminary notes of the upcoming patch scheduled to be implemented this July on CO PH. Other essential screenshots and info will follow as soon as they are available.


1. Added Daily Quests
(1) New quests are initialized at 00:00 everyday.



2. Key Mapping and Option Renewal
(1) Key Mapping: Users can set their own shortcut keys during playing game.
(2) Added Chatting Macro

3. Added new MD Illusion Castle Radiant hall



(1) Level Requirement : From 130 (BSLV11)
(2) Entrance Item: Apocalypse of Outer World* (*item names are subject to change)

→Drop type is same as the other DX dungeons. It drops ‘boots’ type equipment.

6. Added Party Search and Improved Party System

(1) Updated System



(2) Basic Information
A. Characters do not belong to party can open party search by using party shortcut key. (default: P)
B. Cabal Menu > Community
- Party search UI can be opened through party menu.
- Characters do not belong to party can either open party search UI or check the possibility of party search registration via party context menu.
- When users are on party, party search UI can be checked so as to make parties with same goals to be able to unify when they want.
→Users cannot open party search when they are in war channel or at DX dungeon.

7. Composition of UI and Its Activation

(1)Search

A. Select channel and click search button at channel combo box, party that include the particular channel will be shown.
B. Type in the search text that you want to filter in the search box, party with the text on recruitment text will be shown.
C. Lists can be refreshed by F5 key. Shortcut Key does not work to choose party members when party search UI has been activated.



8. Party Application

(1) You can apply to the party that you choose on the list.
(2) Characters that are already involved in party deactivate on the list.

9. Party Registration and Cancelling Registration

(1) Click “Register Party” icon to register party.
(2) When you are registered for party search, the icon will be “Cancel Registration”
(3) Party registration can be cancelled by clicking “Cancel Registration” icon.
(4) The icons are not visible for party members except for party leaders.
(5) Party Search List

A. Show information about parties that register party search.
B. You can find up to 50 lists at one time. The party that registered the most recent will come first.


(6) Channel

A. Party leader shows current channel.
B. List can be sorted by channel button.


(7) Recruitment Text

A. The text which party leader typed in search box.
B. List can be sorted by recruitment text button.


(8) Party Members

A. The fixed number of party members decided by party members and party leaders is shown.
B. List can be sorted by party members button


(9) Party Leader

A. Party leader’s class, nation, level, character name is shown.
B. You can apply to party and also can have private talk with party leader



10. How to Register Party Search

(1) Click Party search UI “Party Registration” button to activate party registration UI.
(2) Party search registration can be done by party leader or characters with higher than Lv10 that do not belong to any party.

A. In order to prevent any commercial and other inappropriate recruitment texts, level limitation exists.
B. In order to prevent dual registration, characters and party leaders that do not belong to any party have an authority to register party.
C. The character that register party search and make party becomes party leader.


(3) Party registration box constitution and function

A. Recruitment Text
→ Recruitment text can be typed in.
Maximum 40 bytes.
Basic text (I am looking for party members.) is given. If you click input box the message will be deleted.
B. Fixed number of party members
→ Maximum number of party members can be designated.
You can either type the number in input box or click button to make the number bigger or smaller.
Minimum number of party member: current party member +1, Maximum: 7
If typed number is bigger than 7, change the number to 7.
When party registration box is activated, the basic number of party members is 7. (It is based on maximum number of party members)





11. How to Cancel Party Search Registration

(1) Party leader can cancel party search registration by using party search UI “cancel registration” button.
(2) When the number of party members exceeds the fixed number, party search will be canceled.

A. When you set the fixed number of party members to 6 and there are more than 6 members, party search will be canceled.
B. If the number of party members exceeds 7 when it registers a party, party search will be canceled.
C. System message will be shown.
“Party search registration has been canceled as the number of party member exceeds the fixed number.”


(3) If you enter DX dungeon while you are on party search, the party search will be canceled.

A. System message will be shown.
“Party search registration has been canceled as you enter DX dungeon.”


(4) If character that does not register party search joins party, the party will be canceled.

A. System message will be shown.
“Party has been canceled as you are not registered in party search.”


(5) Party search registration will be canceled as the party dissolve.

12. Party Member Channel and Area Information

(1) Mouse over party member’s class level mark, Party member’s channel, regional information will be shown in tooltip.
(2) The reason why we limit the function only to class level mark is to minimize the trouble seeing tooltip while choosing party members, menu and checking the status of buff.
(3) Party member’s channel and regional information includes channel, region (field or dungeon) and nation.
(4) Party member’s channel and regional information will not be shown when they are offline.

13. Party UI Hide Function

(1) Hide and activate party UI by using a button.
(2) Add hiding (minimizing) button on Party UI’s upper left.
(3) Minimizing button is being shown only when you mouse over party UI.
(4) When UI is minimized, UI activation button will be added at the same place and the button will be shown all the time.
(5) Hide and activate party UI by using shortcut key.
(6) Hide and activate party UI by using party shortcut key .(Basically :P)

14. Change of Rules for Partying Among Characters with Different Nation

(1) Previous
If one of the two characters with different nations is at war field, party application is impossible.

A. Party is possible on normal field or dungeons even if nations are different.
B. When characters with different nations want to make a party and enter a dungeon in war field should make a party in normal field and move to war field.


(2) New
If characters know each other’s character name and information, party application is possible.

A. Since other character’s character menu is unable to be seen at war field, you should know their name so that you can invite them.

New Cabal Items and Weapons

To start out there were some particular situations when you are joining or rejoining a dungeon that needs a bit more explanation. The first one is where for example two people went to a dungeon, and then a third friend logs in and wants to join their dungeon run as well. Yes, it is completely possible for one of the two inside the dungeon to log out, then let the third person join the party before re-entering. The third person will now be able to join the first two inside, with no problems.

The other situation is where two people are inside a dungeon, and one logs out and does not return again for whatever reason. In this case as soon as the 5-minute rejoining time is over the remaining person will be kicked from the dungeon. This is the same as when everyone from a party leaves that party while a member is still inside a dungeon. If the party is completely disbanded whoever was left inside will be kicked out. Essentially it comes down to if you enter a dungeon as a party there is no way that you will be able to continue solo if everyone else leaves or quits. It is rather simple, actually.

New Weapons

Right, on the fun stuff. The new Lycanus weapons are unique to the Illusion Castle dungeon, as they will only drop from the boss chest there. They do not drop with every run, but they are not that terribly rare either from my own experience on the ITS. They are character-binding when you pick them up, but to compensate for this there is a link in the normal chat that appears whenever one of these do drop, so that everyone can see which attributes it has before deciding on who gets it.

Lycanus weapons come with 3 random craft options, with the possibility of being slotted as well. The craft options are randomly chosen from the following list:

* All Skill Amp up
* Critical Rate up
* Critical Damage up
* Add Damage increase
* All attack increase


This means they will be for both sword and magic classes at the same time, as should be obvious from the following image of some of the Lycanus we have found so far:



The exact amount of each craft can vary, as you can see from the Add Damage going from 5 to 15. These weapons also upgrade like Mithril, needing Highest Cores, and their stats increase in the same way, for example a +1 Blade will have 6 more attack than a +0 one. So with a bit of luck on the crafting options you could find yourself with a very decent weapon indeed.

True to form the developers are improving the appearance of newer gear, each time producing something even better looking than the last. The Lycanus weapons have to be some of my favourite items ingame up to date, especially the bow and shield.

New Belts

The belt slot finally has a use, and even though none of the current belts offer any game-breaking advantage they are good to have. Each belt comes in a version from +0 to +4, so five of each kind of belt, and they offer you the following:

Belt of Rapid: Increase the Dex stat (+1, +2, +3, +4, +5)
Belt of Guard: Increase your Defence (+2, +3, +4, +5, +6)
Belt of Vital: Increase your HP (+20, +30, +40, +50, +60)
Belt of Damp: All Skill Amp resist (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%)
Belt of Prevent: Resist Critical Damage (2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%)

I am sure the higher level Damp and Prevent belts will become quite popular.


New Ring

The one you have all been waiting for, and the one item that I have the least information on. EST have told us that the new ring is going to be account bound, from a quest that each character can do only once. I heard a rumour that it is going to be a duration item - that is not true at all, the ring will be permanent. However, gaining this item might not be that easy... Or to put it this way, do you really think you will be able to get the best ring in the game for a couple of clicks through a NPC quest dialogue and a quick 20 minute dungeon run?

Latest Cabal Dungeons

April 8 marks the target release of Cabal's latest patch, Illusion Castle, in the Philippine server. E-Games CGM Raven has announced it as the tentative schedule, provided that no problem occurs prior to its release.

Illusion Castle brings two new dungeons for avid players to explore and enjoy: Illusion Castle Underworld and Crazy Steamer. For those who are curious about these two new challenges, please, read on. If you prefer discovering the new dungeons for yourself then please close this blog before scrolling any further. I will of course try my best to make sure that there is some mystery left, but there will be screenshots, hints, random information, and the like in the next part. You have been warned.

Crazy Steamer

The new DX dungeon and the first real successor to the Panic Cave that we received with a previous update. Just like the Panic Cave, Steamer Crazy is also a solo, timed dungeon run with three possible difficulty levels, and dying means the dungeon ends. You cannot use an odd circle to resurrect yourself which does seem to be the direction that the developers want to take with the DX-style dungeons: Quick, hard dungeons that will force you to stay awake, and you cannot afford to make mistakes.





The entrance to the dungeon is set halfway through the wastelands of Fort Ruina, in the area with the old trains and railways. Once inside you are transported to the back of a moving train, and it looks really cool to see the railway flashing past while you fight on the narrow train itself. I say this with every new dungeon, but the developers and designers get better with every update, and they keep on trying new things, such as a dungeon set on a moving train in this case.





My own, albeit minor, complaint is that there are not that many new mobs around. The developers borrowed and improved some of the existing ‘metallic’ mobs from Fort Ruina and Pontus Ferrum, but given the location and nature of the dungeon they do not feel out of place. Progress through the train is not quite as linear as it first appears to be, which I also enjoyed, and what is great about Crazy Steamer is that it has two chests with treasure, not just one. I am sure many of you will agree with me on that point. The drops also improve with the harder dungeons, even though the easy version can drop some rather rare pieces of equipment. Before anyone asks, yes, you will still receive character binding, and bind-on-equip, weapons and armour.


Overall the dungeon feels slower than the Panic Cave, and excludes the wild rush that characterises the older DX. It also appears to be a bit easier, although that is always hard to judge on the test server, and overall I enjoy this one more than the Panic Cave. I am curious to see how it will be received on Monday, but I am prepared to say I think most people will enjoy it quite a lot. The only thing I wish they would add is a title for the DX dungeons as well, but perhaps we will see that with a future update.

Illusion Castle Underworld


This is the big one. The first and most obvious part of this dungeon is the freeview camera, which has only been used for the Forbidden Island dungeon before. Unlike the Forbidden Island however, Illusion Castle is located underground, in a vast maze of caverns and walkways. It is also rather longer than most of the current dungeons, with a dungeon time of two hours. Once again you can see the developers trying new things, and I think it really works in this dungeon.

The dungeon is meant to feel like a cavern, and in my opinion this feeling comes across really well. Stalactites and stalagmites appear everywhere, and occasionally you come across places where the ceiling of the cave has collapsed, allowing light to intrude from the outside. Other areas have you moving across narrow walkways, or past deep chasms with strange lights shining in the depths. I think I can back up my claims better with some pictures.







The Illusion part of Illusion Castle is there for some very good reasons, and everything in there is not what it appears to be at first glance. There are one or two sections in particular that will prove an interesting challenge to get past. I think that in some way the dungeon reminds me of a mix between the Tower of the Dead b2f, and the Forgotten Temple B1f, with of course the wonderful free camera from the Forbidden Island used as well.

There are also some hidden quests to discover, and extra bosses hiding in the deepest part of the cavern, if you can find them of course. You will also see a very interesting use of the new looting rules in action, and I am not referring to the possible Lycanus Weapons now.

The dungeon ends with a very interesting promise, which makes for a fairly clear indication of what is to come in the future. With that in mind I leave you with this screenshot, showing something from the very last part of Illusion Castle.



Promises of things to come?



There is a title for completing this dungeon - you become a ‘Distorted Soul Saviour’ when finishing Illusion Castle. The second rank of the title gives 1% resistance to all skill amp, and the third gives 2% - small bonuses as with almost every dungeon title.

Illusion Castle Entices



ESTsoft, developer of the Philippines' leading MMORPG Cabal, has just released new updates regarding Illusion Castle, the latest addition to the top online game.


Updates posted February 10, 2010:

- changes to the item proprieties window

- changes to the effect of belts

- few changes to the Illusion Castle

ESTsoft continues to polish the upcoming Cabal Patch much to the delight of its avid gamers.



*note:- These weapons drop from "Illusion Castle" dungeon
- They have high requirements (lv 120) also need high stats but have stats of osm lv because they can drop with triple epic options

The complete developer's notes and patch notes are still nowhere to be found as of this moment.

PM Jay of Cabal PH has already posted a teaser of the patch in the local forum to build up the hype among Filipino players. They intend to release it this summer, just in time for the Pinoy kids' school vacation.

Something for gamers to look forward to burn the summer heat with!

Cabal Illusion Castle Gearing Up!

Cabal's upcoming patch, Illusion Castle, is bound for release in March 2010, just barely three months after Reloaded went live.

The highly anticipated patch continues to be beautified by the reliable game developers, ESTsoft, to cater to players' delight and continue to engage them in the world of Nevareth.

Here are more expected upcoming changes as translated from Cabal KR:

- changes to UI:

* the window size of the character status has been expanded

* The icon of the battle mode has been moved to the lower right side of the character (Not sure, need to see SS).

- change the way party shows:

* original: show's a star

* change: party people name's appear yellow

- Change to the buttons of premium, DP, New updates, etc:

* all buttons will be shown in the bottom left

* icons and buttons are display to a maximum of 5

- Some icons changed:

* Death Penalty icon changed in size

- Christmas Tree from Bloody Ice has been removed.

- Increase the unique skill amplification options of the "Leica Anubis" weapon

- Improve mouse movement in "Illusion Castle".

- Add "Leica" weapons with slot that drop from "Illusion Castle" dungeon

*these weapons with slot cannot be extended.

*note: It seems that non-slot weapons can be extended with SEH, while weapons with slot cannot be extended. This was (I think) to not make the weapons too Op'ed.

- Quest experience is increased:

* This applies to Battle Style lv up and the upgrade quest (not sure what quest is this)

- Drop rate of the quest items in the "Brothers are strong: Zombie Warrior" quest has been increased

- The quantity of killed mobs in some "Monster Quests" has been reduced.

- few changes to blessing bead plus

- changes to Force Blader BS lv up at lv 50

- the cabal menu button has been added to the right

- Changes to the list of fonts sorted alphabetically

- few changes in Mission War

- The confirmation box that we get when we want to sell something at the NPC will be removed. (I am not sure about this, I will see in the future if it is true)

- Changes to the color of the guild warehouse alz.

There is no official Patch Notes released yet but I will definitely post it here as soon as I get hold of it.

For now, get a load of the new DX Dungeon, Crazy Streamer.

Illusion Castle's Surprises

Cabal KR has just updated their webpage with more tasty droolable Illusion Castle updates.

New Weapons: Star Lica



*note:- These weapons drop from "Illusion Castle" dungeon
- They have high requirements (lv 120) also need high stats but have stats of osm lv because they can drop with triple epic options as u can see in the pic.

New skill bar:



- change requirements of BS lv for lv 120 from 100 Bloody Orcs to 60.

- new quest from Magic dealer Keller in Bloody Ice:

* requirements: lv 85/BS lv 9 or higher

* reward is this ring:



- new DX dungeon: "Crazy Streamer":

*item required: Crazy Streamer

*requirements: lv 110 / BS lv 11 or higher

*duration: 20 minutes

*entry: Fort Ruina X - 40 / Y - 175

- also a new quest that tells about the DX dungeon "Crazy Streamer" that involves a ghost oO

*quest can be taken from Helen in Fort Ruina

- now we can re-enter dungeon if we get dc, but we have 5 min and only in party we can enter.

- we can complete Hidden helper quest even without DT cards.

- add formula cards for crafting fury potions small/medium/large sizes

*Formula Card : Fury Potion (Large) added to drop

- 8 slot expanding inventory, but I am not sure

- jukebox appearing will change

- add new item to game : belts

*note: belt's are not craft-able I am afraid, only drop-able in dungeons...

- changes to the GPS minimap

- possible changes to the quick-slot panel making possible to add more skills and combos

- drop rate of "yellow powder" is changed (increased I think )

- New dungeon "Underworld Illusion Castle" (dunno if this is the exact name)

* requirement: minimum lv 120 / BS LV11

* duration: 180 minutes

* Entry Location: Lakeside X - 171 / Y - 175

* Enter the items: a copy of "Welcome to the Apocalypse"

- new quest about "Underworld Illusion Castle":

*Can be taken from the magic dealer Nodaka

- new unique weapons Star Leica Series

- change duration of "Underworld Illusion Castle:

*original: 180 minutes

*change: 120 minutes

- change display icon of premium/free use

- change display icon of "New Map", "Level Up" button

- added icon to show duration of Battle Mode in top right

- many fixes, and other display changes

- added new qust to enter Mutant Forest

- ability to put mesages on unique items after droping
